Where Am I July 2021- Finale

Many thanks to the many reader who followed “Where Am I July 2021. A lot of people correctly guessed the location; and few readers early on, incorrectly guessed Australia. As for me, I guessed Thailand. I was wrong. Here is the multimedia, final installment of “Where Am I”.

Why, Oh Why, Do I Fly?
A jet-speed, bouncy flight, makes time and space fragile.Where and when will I alight?
No idea. I’m not mentally agile.
In anguish, I cry out my plaintive plea:“Where Am I? Someone, please tell me!”
I write this blog to ask. But no one knows,
or cares. My whining makes one weary.Hopefully, with photos, and not prose,
“Donde Estoy? II” is not so dreary.
I pray that this sequel is more visual and less abysmal.
Ladies and gentlemen, without further adolet me keep my promise to you:
Here are the promised pictures of the Promised Land —

The above artwork and gold filigree will be familiar to many, but just in case:

AND THE BIG REVEAL:

We have a theme song:“Bali Hai” —
a short clip of this moving song by a Balinese looking singer with a fantastic, emotional singing range. Probably nobody involved with this song is Balinese  (sung by Juanita Hall, and dubbed by Muriel Smith), but the feeling sounds authentic. Okay, it is from the musical, “South Pacific, but give it a crack:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RwYvWF5j0a8
In case you cannot listen to this haunting melodywhile you savor this presentation, just reading the lyrics will give you the Balinese spirit:

“… Most people live on a lonely islandLost in the middle of a foggy sea
Most people long for another island
One where they know they would like to be
Bali Ha’i may call you
Any night, any day
In your heart you’ll hear it call you
Come away, come away
Bali Ha’i will whisper on the wind of the sea
Here am I, your special island
Come to me, come to me…”

Final clue: Ganesh, the Elephant Fish God — where did the fish part of this statue come from?

And I now live in….. Bali, Indonesia:
